One morning, God placed something in my heart concerning someone I was working with that morning. I prayed in my heart and asked God what He wanted me to do. As the day proceeded, things started to unfold. This person had started opening up. This morning was like a flowing river. As she talked to me, I heard precisely in my heart, “offer her prayer.” I didn’t. The day went by. Later on, I felt very guilty that I had not obeyed the leading of Holy Spirit. I prayed that God would forgive me and give me another opportunity. I received peace.
There will be times in life when we miss out on important opportunities. It might be opportunity to speak to the right person, to get a promotion, to reconcile with someone you care about etc. Just remember that it is not the end of the world. The God who raised this opportunities can bring them back. Just acknowledge it and ask God for forgiven. Specifically pray that He brings that opportunity again. God is not anxiously waiting to punish us when we miss the mark. His Mercy endures forever upon us. We just have to run to Him when we need His mercy. And what He has started in you, He will bring it to pass.
“Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.” (Isaiah 30:18).
